the War on Terror

Ok, so this is turning out to be my first real post, and it is about the always dreaded arch-enemy, the spider, to the chinese, known as 蜘蛛. to the left you will notice my welcome gift waiting for me in my new apartment. how thoughtful of china. one of lifes little jokes is to see how much i can stand in the way of spiders. every new country i visit produces a big and bigger test for me to face. so i have written off my peaceful ways and have become a spider fighter. i hope u can truly see the size of this spider by the picture. we know that pictures never do things justice, so imagine your me, opening the door to your "bathroom" and seeing this, spread out on a white wall. If youre reading this and dont know: Im arachnaphobic.

Besides that, i hope to have some pics up soon. China life is crazy. I particularly enjoy the Chinese variation of doube dipping in which all the food is placed in the center of the table and everyone reaches their chopsticks across everywhere and just takes lil bits at a time. its great fun.

the university is pretty big. about 30,000 students. i will be in the College of Human Sciences. all the students are coming back and campus is alive again. downtown is great, there is a McDonalds we stopped at, but everything was on a stick and it sketched me out a lil bit...so i tried and Aloe float instead...

pics of the apt soon. the one nice thing is they deliver office size bottles of purified water...for less than a buck.

currently listening to: the comedic variation of chinese jingle bells blasting from the lil store next to our apartment.

currently reading: my contract for loopholes.

currently watching: for spiders.

currently drinking: grape soy milk from an unrefridgerated carton.

What is this? Where am I?

this is only a test...
